GM-Scriptorium as a Windows desktop app

38 scenes: the installer with its new options and campaign pages, the tray icon and its menu, five toasts, the panel and preview changes, the terminal and the uninstaller. Updated for your board rulings of 14 Oct: every frame shows the option you chose. A dashed decision DTn tag marks which card set that part; the table below lists the choices.

Welcome to GM-Scriptorium 0.5.0 Setup decision DT1

Setup will install GM-Scriptorium for you only. You don't need administrator permission.

GM-Scriptorium turns your gm-apprentice campaign vault into a website for your players. It runs quietly in the background on this PC, with an icon by the clock, and nothing leaves it unless you publish.

Click Next to continue.

GM-Scriptorium 0.5.0

The built welcome page with one new clause: GM-Scriptorium now runs in the background and lives by the clock. The version is 0.5.0: you chose to hold 0.5.0 until the desktop app is in it (DT1 = B).

Start with Windows is new and ticked (DT4). A closed-by-default Advanced section (drawn open) holds the fixed ports, 7400 and 7401 unless you change them (DT7 = fixed, your note). This needs a custom nsDialogs page, since the built components page can't hold text fields. Setup doesn't test the ports; a busy port shows up at start (T09, N05). Desktop and PATH stay unticked. Finish keeps its run box, now "Start GM-Scriptorium now" (W09). Next goes to the campaign pages, or to W07 if settings already exist.

GM-Scriptorium is removed

GM-Scriptorium has been removed from your computer. It no longer starts when you sign in.

Kept, as always: your settings and campaign list in C:\Users\Sam\AppData\Roaming\Scriptorium, your campaign vaults and your built sites.

GM-Scriptorium 0.5.0

The built finish page, kept lines and the unticked feedback box as they are, with one added sentence confirming the start-with-Windows entry is gone.

When Windows ends the session

Nothing to draw: there is no window and no prompt. This is the behaviour the build must show on the VM.

  1. Windows says the session is ending
    • Sign-out, restart or shutdown.
    • The tray helper receives it and tells GM-Scriptorium to stop.
    • No "this app is preventing shutdown" screen.
  2. A clean stop, inside Windows' time limit
    • Same path as Quit: panel and preview listeners closed, remote listener closed, programs it started ended, launcher file removed.
    • Open tabs show the stopped page (B04).
    • Settings are never written: config.toml is byte for byte unchanged.
  3. Next sign-in
    • With Start with Windows on, it starts quietly (N02).
    • Any leftovers from a cut-short stop are tidied first.
    • A vault on a drive that isn't connected yet gets retries, then T05 and N03.
Accepted leftovers (as ADR 0028)A dead launcher file and a preview folder, if Windows cuts the stop short. Both are cleaned on the next run.
Never in the logThe launch code, the session token, a password or a cookie. The log sits in an owner-only folder.

Covers the S01 note from the plan and the matching Windows criterion (sign-out, shutdown and restart stop cleanly; config hash unchanged).
